2019 is the year of innovation. Last week Samsung launched Samsung Galaxy Fold and now Huawei also launched its folding phone i.e Huawei Mate x. The race of folding phone supremacy is now on.
Huawei CEO Richard Yu introduced the much-awaited smartphone of Huawei at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Design of Huawei Mate X is different from Samsung fold. One thing which looks interesting is that the Mate X unfolds outwards which is very impressive.
Mate X doesn’t have a glass display, it has an OLED plastic display. The plastic display doesn’t give you any kind of trouble while folding a phone and it looks like a glass display.
I personally like the display of Huawei Mate X. Mate X unfolds outwards and turns into an 8-inch display. When folded, the big screen turns into two screens one is at the front which is 6.6-inch OLED display and another one is at the back side of the phone which is 6.38- inch display. Both displays work very well. You can use any side just turn it around, open it up, and the phone knows exactly where you are.
Mate X doesn’t have the protection of Corning Gorilla Glass may be Gorilla Glass is too rigid for a folding smartphone.
Huawei used Falcon Wing Mechanical Hinge in Mate X which gives you the smooth and flat finish on both sides of the screens. This hinge ensures that the screen will not overstretch while folding or unfolding the screens.
As far as cameras are concerned, the Huawei gives you triple rear Leica camera setup which can be used for clicking selfies as well with the help of secondary display.
The battery is divided into two parts to give you a combined power of 4500mAh with the support of 55W SuperCharge which can charge the phone from 0 to 85% within 30 minutes.
Huawei packed Mate X with the latest Kirin 980 processor with Balong 5000 5G modem chip. According to Huawei, it works 3 times faster than a 4G connection ( 1GB in 3 seconds). Mate X has 8GB Of RAM with 512GB of internal storage.
Huawei Mate X will be available from May or June 2019 in only one color i.e Interstellar blue and Huawei 2,300 euros for Mate X( Converts to $2,600 and 1.86 INR). This smartphone is very costly but Huawei gives us everything in one phone.
